Emergency Department

The Queen's Medical Center is the major trauma center for the state of Hawaii and the Pacific Basin, and the only Comprehensive Stroke Center in the state. Queen's Emergency Department has 31 treatment rooms and provides comprehensive care to individuals with a wide range of medical emergencies. A dedicated care team of Emergency Medicine physicians and providers, nurses, technical and ancillary staff provide specialized care for nearly 66,000 patients annually, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Queen's Emergency Department has two entrances: one for patients that arrive via ambulance, and another for walk-in patients. This reduces congestion and ensures quick access to the full services of the Medical Center.

Entry to Queen's Emergency Department is a simple turn at the Punchbowl-Miller Street intersection. Vehicles traveling Makai (toward the ocean) on Punchbowl Street are not permitted to turn left onto Miller Street. Please observe traffic signs. Only emergency vehicles and vehicles carrying emergency patients may turn at the intersection. Non-patient drop-offs and parking will not be permitted in the Ambulance Bay.
